Chattri Memorial, Brighton. The memorial was designed by EC Henriques, a young architect from Mumbai studying in the UK at the time of World War I.
Inscription written by Sir John Otter, mayor of Brighton (1913-1914) and advocate for the building of the memorial.
Subedar (Captain) Manta Singh, injured while saving friend and British Officer (then Lieutenant, later) Captain George Henderson. He died of his wounds in Brighton and was cremated on the site of the Chattri memorial.
