You can now read and listen to the full text of my narrative poem Letters Home, published online in May 2023’s Guest Edition of WritersMosaic, edited by Alinah Azadeh.
Letters Home is also part of We Hear You Now, a spoken word audio trail on the coast path between Seaford Head and Birling Gap. The trail, conceptualised by Alinah as writer-in-residence at Seven Sisters Country Park, launched on 24 June 2023 and will be in the landscape until 2028.
I read from Letters Home at the Attenborough Centre for the Arts during Brighton Festival 2023 for We See You Now - Writing and Walking the Global Imaginary of the Seven Sisters. A gift to read alongside Alinah, Akila Richards and Razia Aziz.
I was awarded an inaugural Shifting the Gaze bursary for research and deveiopment (Writing Our Legacy / South Downs National Park) which led to the writing of Letters Home. Other awards include a Developing Your Creative Practice grant from Arts Council England and invitation to become a Fellow of New Writing South. I have been part of the We See You Now collective since 2020 and am a long time collaborator and occasional creative producer with Writing Our Legacy.
